A friend introduced me to Big Canoe in the mid-‘90s, and I was so impressed by the beauty of the place, that a few years later I brought my then fiancé, Peter, up from Atlanta to have lunch and enjoy the scenery. We both fell so much in love with the spectacular beauty and serenity of Big Canoe, that within a few hours, we were excited owners of a forested lot overlooking a gorgeous lake surrounded by the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains!
That was truly a life-changing experience. We decided there was no place we would rather spend our lives together than living in these magnificent mountains surrounded by nature’s bounty. We immediately enrolled in a real estate licensing course so that we could market and sell Big Canoe real estate. A year later, we were married in Big Canoe, and our wedding photos were taken on the golf course, beside the lake, overlooking the rock slide, and peering out of Big Canoe’s iconic wooden bridge.
In 2002, we left our corporate jobs and the hectic city life behind and moved into our brand new Big Canoe home on Audubon Ridge with a view to die for. We are able to operate and grow our Mountain Home Resale business out of our home, where we specialize in serving Big Canoe, and some of the other nearby mountain communities. Big Canoe is a very warm and welcoming community, and we quickly found that we had more wonderful friends, more activities and more FUN than either of us had ever experienced before.
Peter is no longer an active Realtor, but our mutual passion is always to help others discover and experience the idyllic lifestyle this award-winning resort community offers.
